Refund policy

Last updated August 5, 2026

There are two kinds of refund here and they work differently. A failed solve is refunded automatically, within seconds, without you asking. Unused credit is refunded on request, within a defined window. This page covers both.

These documents are complete in substance but still reference company details that will only exist once the legal entity is incorporated: the registered name, address, company and VAT numbers, the data protection contact and the governing jurisdiction. Those placeholders are marked in the text. Nothing here has been invented to fill a gap.

1What you are buying

You buy prepaid credit denominated in US dollars. Credit is not a subscription, does not expire, and is spent only when a task is created.

Balances are held internally as integer micro-dollars, so what you are refunded is exactly what you were charged — no rounding drift in either direction.

2Failed solves: automatic

The price of a task is debited when the task is created, and credited back in full the moment the task resolves as failed or times out. You do not open a ticket and you do not wait for a review.

Both movements appear in your wallet history against the same task id, so the arithmetic is auditable at any time.

This applies to every failure mode on our side: the solver could not produce a token, the task exceeded its deadline, or an upstream error occurred.

3Tokens the target rejects

A solve that returns a token the target refuses is, for our purposes, a failed solve — even though our system recorded it as a success.

Open a ticket with the task id and what the target returned. If the evidence supports it, we credit the solve back. We do not require you to prove it beyond reasonable doubt; we require enough to see that the token was used promptly and rejected.

We cannot refund a token that was rejected because it was reused, was submitted long after issue, or was replayed from a different User-Agent or IP than the one it was minted with. Those are documented constraints, not failures.

4Unused credit

You may ask for a refund of unused credit within fourteen days of the top-up that funded it. We refund the remaining balance attributable to that top-up, less anything already spent.

After fourteen days, credit remains usable indefinitely but is no longer refundable as a matter of right. We will still look at a reasonable request — a project cancelled, a duplicate top-up, an integration that never went live — and we usually say yes.

As a business customer you have no statutory right of withdrawal for a digital service you have started using. The fourteen-day window above is granted contractually, because we would rather you were able to leave than feel trapped by a balance.

5How to request one

Write to us from the email address on the account, or open a ticket from the dashboard, and say which top-up you are asking about.

We acknowledge within one working day and pay approved refunds within five working days. If we decline, you get a reason, not a template.

6How the money comes back

Card top-ups are refunded to the card that paid, because that is the only destination our processor will accept. Expect the credit to appear in three to ten working days depending on your bank.

Cryptocurrency top-ups are refunded in the same asset, to the address the payment came from. The amount returned is the USD value of the refund converted at the time the refund is sent, so a movement in the exchange rate between top-up and refund is yours — in either direction. Network fees are deducted from the amount returned.

We do not refund to a different card, a different wallet or a third party. That restriction is an anti-money-laundering measure and we cannot waive it.

7What is not refundable

The following are outside this policy.

  • Successful solves. A token that was produced and delivered has been paid for, whether or not you ended up using it.
  • Credit consumed before the refund request was made.
  • Credit on an account terminated for breaching the acceptable use policy.
  • Amounts under one US dollar, where the transaction cost of the refund exceeds the refund.
  • Losses in your own business caused by a failed or slow solve — those are governed by the limitation of liability in the terms of service.

8Chargebacks

Talk to us before you raise a chargeback. A chargeback costs us a fee and freezes the conversation for months, and almost every dispute we have seen was a misunderstanding that took one email to resolve.

An account with an unresolved chargeback is suspended until it is settled. Where a chargeback is raised in bad faith on credit that was in fact spent, we may recover the amount and our costs.

9Billing errors

If you believe you were charged for something you should not have been — a debit with no matching credit on a failed task, a discount tier not applied, a duplicated top-up — tell us and we will check the ledger.

If we got it wrong, we refund it and we say so. Billing bugs are bugs, and we would rather hear about them from you than find them later in an audit.
